frequently asked
questions

Q: WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT PROCESS?
A: Once you inquire, we’ll chat to make sure we’re the right fit. Then I’ll send a custom proposal with all the details. A signed contract and 25% non-refundable retainer lock in your date—and you’ll get a welcome package in the mail to celebrate! From there, I’ll guide you through everything so the planning process feels easy and exciting.

Wedding Booking
Process

Q: WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
A: I totally understand—life happens. All payments are non-refundable, and rescheduling requires a $300 fee plus full balance paid at that time. I’ll do my best to accommodate, but it depends on my availability. If we can’t find a new date, you’ll get you balance refunded and your deposit can go toward another session within that calendar year.

Q: CAN WE CUSTOMIZE A COLLECTION?
A: Sometimes! I’ll walk you through your options and we’ll tailor something that fits your day and your vision if it’s something different than my collections offer.

Q: CAN WE SEE SOME GALLERIES BEFORE WE BOOK?
A: Just for family formals! I’ve got the rest covered with a natural flow that focuses on storytelling. I’ll guide when needed and let real moments lead the way. If there are any specific shots you’re dreaming of, just let me know ahead of time!

Q: WHAT ARE YOU TRAVEL FEES?
A: Travel within one hour of my home base in Greenville is always included—no additional fees, no fuss. For locations beyond that, travel fees may apply and will be clearly outlined in your custom proposal and discussed based on your specific needs prior to booking.

Q: HOW FAST IS YOUR TURNAROUND?
A: Your full gallery will be delivered within 10–12 weeks after your event. I know waiting can feel hard when you're so excited to see everything—but trust me, it's worth it. Every image is hand-edited with care, intention, and an eye for storytelling. While you wait, I always send 50-75 sneak peeks to hold you over and keep the excitement going!

Q: DO YOU NEED A MEAL?
A: Yes, please! A hot vendor meal during dinner helps me recharge so I can keep going strong through the rest of the night. I usually take a quick break while you're eating (since no one wants photos mid-bite), and I’m back before the dancing kicks off. A well-fed photographer is a happy, energetic one!

Q: WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS UNMANAGABLE?
A: If dangerous weather forces you to postpone, I’ll waive the rescheduling fee—no problem. New dates will depend on my availability, but I’ll do everything I can to make it work. I’m also totally comfortable shooting in rain or shine, as long as it’s safe for everyone (and my gear!) and I can be prepared for those forecasts.

Q: CAN WE MAKE CHANGES TO OUR COLLECTION?
A: Definitely. Life happens and plans evolve—I’ll work with you to adjust as needed. Unfortunately nothing can be deducted from a package, but things can be added or adjusted! Just keep me in the loop and we’ll make it work.

Q: DO YOU CREATE A SHOT LIST?
A: Just for family formals! I’ve got the rest covered with a natural flow that focuses on storytelling. I’ll guide when needed and let real moments lead the way. If there are any specific shots you’re dreaming of, just let me know ahead of time!

Wedding Planning Questions

Q: DO YOU HELP WITH TIMELINE PLANNING?
A: Yes—I’m hands-on in the planning process and love helping you build a photo-friendly timeline that works with your priorities! This usually happens 2-4 weeks prior to the wedding day! We will set up a final meeting to go over the final details!

Q: WHAT IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY?
A: I have a solid backup plan and a network of trusted photographers I work with. You’ll never be left without coverage.

Q: DO I NEED MY OWN KIT FOR FLAT LAYS AND STYLING?
A: Totally optional! I bring a full styling kit to create cohesive, elevated flat lays. If you have personal items like invites, perfume, or heirlooms you’d like included, just set them aside and I’ll work them in beautifully.

Q: CAN YOU PHOTOSHOP (FILL IN THE BLANKE)?
A: I lightly retouch every image for natural skin tones, color, and light—blemishes and flyaways, gone. I don’t do major body edits unless we’ve discussed it ahead of time. My goal is to enhance, not erase.

Q: CAN YOU HELP ME POSE? I AM SO AWKWARD?
A: You’re not awkward, you’re human! I use natural prompts (not stiff poses) to help you feel confident and comfortable. I’ll guide you just enough, then let real moments shine.

Wedding Day Approach

Q: WHAT IS THE BEST FOR YOU TO ARRIVE?
A: The normal time frame is 2 hours prior to ceremony if you do not have a first look, and 4 hours if you do! I do this so that we can get almost all the requested photos done prior! (So you can get to the party!)

Q: WHAT IF WE STRAY FROM THE TIMELINE?
A: Timelines help things flow, but they’re not set in stone. I build in wiggle room and stay flexible when things run behind (because they always do!). I’ll keep us on track without the stress—don’t worry, the only one panicking might be your coordinator! HA!

Q: HOW DO YOU MANAGE FAMILY PORTRAITS?
A: I focus on immediate family—parents, siblings, and grandparents—to keep things efficient and meaningful. If extended family or large groups are a priority, we can adjust the timeline, often by shortening bridal party or couple portraits. My goal is to balance everything and capture what matters most to you.

Q: SHOULD WE DO A FIRST LOOK?
A: Totally your call—but I’m a big fan. It gives you a quiet moment to connect before the chaos, helps ease nerves, and allows us to get most portraits done early so you can enjoy cocktail hour. It doesn’t take away from the aisle moment—it just gives you two unforgettable ones.

Q: WHO IS YOUR SECOND SHOOTER?
A: My husband is my go-to! We work seamlessly together—he knows exactly how I shoot and supports me (and carries all the things!). He has years of experience and can easily handle solo coverage when needed. If he’s unavailable, I bring in one of a few trusted photographers I regularly work with—always experienced and always amazing.

Still Have Questions?

Color, light, and fashion are my main sources of inspiration. Finding the perfect light, the way a certain color can tell a story on camera, or the silhouette of a good wardrobe. All of these aspects can make you feel something from a single image, and are prominent in the type of images I take.
